Sweet 7

So, today was a long run in preparation for the half marathon I am training for. I made the 7 mile mark today. I still can't believe that I ran that far.

The race is February 14, 2009. It is the Surf side marathon/half marathon. My friend Rishelle convinced me to go for it. She will be running the full marathon and I will be doing the half. Thank you so much Rishelle for pushing me every week, and running with me for so long before we go our different directions.

It feels so good to have accomplished 7 miles something I never thought I was capable of. This has also been a great outlet for me and a way to let my emotions subside. Now I am tired and need a nap.

That is GREAT! What an accomplishment! You really should be so proud. You'll have plenty of time to get there by February. Nice work!

I know you asked me about mine, sorry I never responded. When I found out I was pregnant they did an ultrasound when I 6 weeks. I have a subchorionic hematoma (basically a sac of blood) attached to my gestational sac. The nurse told me I should stop running, or doing any other high-impact activities for now. If the sac ruptures it could cause a miscarriage. Needless to say, I haven't been running in 2 weeks and I miss it terribly! My furthest run was 7.4 miles, you'll be surpassing me anytime! Keep it up! I still might walk the half marathon, but I can't decide if it's worth the money just to walk. I WANTED TO RUN IT SO BADLY. My doctor may tell me I can run, the nurse said, and I'll see one in the next few weeks, so I'm hoping. But, even so, I won't now have enough time to train by the beginning of December. Oh well, such is life...

That's awesome! Good job! I'm totally dead by 3 miles. Good luck with your half marathon. I was asked to do one recently, but I got pregnant. Darn! I'd love to, but at the same time it just seems like torture. Why would I want to do that to myself??? Just kidding :) You're doing great!

I really admire you! I really want to get in shape and run a half marathon. Hopefully some day! How far did you start out running? I haven't been running in literally a couple of years...yikes! I need to find a jogging stroller and get in the groove. Take care!
